Splunk’s annual customer and partner event, originally scheduled for October, was held in Las Vegas from June 13 to 16th. Experts in the field of data analytics, technology, engineering, and digital marketing gathered to participate in 200 breakout sessions across seven learning tracks that took take place for the whole duration of the event.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit PLTFRM. Splunk created the hub in hopes to elevate artistic voices that will act as bridges in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The event also showcased guest performances and lectures from the world-renowned astrophysicist Dr. Hakeem Oluseyi, veteran Navy SEAL and civil rights activist Kristin Beck, and the founders of Splunk, Erik Swan, and Rob Das.
It was undeniably one of the biggest when it comes to interactive conferences. The IPS team took part in the later parts of the event which involved more physical activities. Organizers initially anticipated thousands of participants and true enough, over 12,000 people made it to the week-long event.
The goal of the breakouts was to give the participants a feel of what they see – or as they term it, “turn data into doing”. Aside from making sure that exits and entrances are guarded, IPS security made sure that each individual at the conference didn’t have any concealed weapons or other items that could endanger others tucked away in their clothing.
As soon as tight protocols were laid down regarding the immunization of participants, our teams had to be more vigilant in making sure that each of the guests possesses a valid Covid-19 vaccination card. Those individuals who did not bring their immunization cards or weren’t vaccinated were still encouraged to attend and participate in the event online.
